How to create a capsule wardrobe
Greetings Blu Violet beauties!
My name is Lindsay and I currently work at Blu Violet Boutique as a visual merchandiser and personal stylist. Once a month, we will be sending out a fun blog loaded with fashion and accessory tips, special discount codes and a section where you can get to know the employees of Blu Violet a little better! Today we will be talking about how to create a capsule wardrobe. The best way to describe a capsule wardrobe is that it is basically the foundation of your closet. A capsule typically consists of a few pieces that are extremely versatile, timeless and will save you time when putting together an outfit. Here are my five favorite pieces to start your capsule with!

White dress shirt or white tee. Both of these options can be dressed up or down and can be paired in many different ways with items already in your closet. (Two of my favorites in store right now are the puffed shoulder shirt by The Shirt $117 and any of our Z Supply plain white tees which are super comfy and great quality.

Blazers are another item that are timeless and can be paired with jeans, dresses and one of our favorites graphic tees! We have a great herringbone blazer by Deluc $158 now and it can pair great with on of our Daydreamer graphic tees or a great bodysuit by Steve Madden

Great pair or pairs of denim. A dark wash, medium wash, light wash and black can offer multiple looks and can be paired in many different ways. Some of our favorite brands currently in store are Daze, Dear John, Pistola and Hidden!

Sweaters are another great piece to add to your capsule. Cardigans, lightknit and a chunky knit are great options to mix and match with items you already have. The last piece to start your capsule wardrobe are shoes. A great pair to start with are simple white sneakers. They can be worn with denim, pants, skirts and dresses and are extremely versatile. A few of our favorite brands include Veja, Nike and Converse!
